Please excuse the filthy car, it desperately needs a Svending
So the Mini has begun to develop a small bit of rust on the bottom of the drivers door. Nothing major but it bugs me none the less. I would like to sand it back and then paint it so that it looks good from a few feet back and isn’t going to spread further.
Fuzzy photo is fuzzy because it is kinda hard to take a photo of the bottom of a door while holding it open because it doesn’t hold itself open anymore, on a very sunny day.
The rust seems to have started on the inside lip of the door and then spread around to the outside.
Does anyone know a good place to get spray paint that is a decent match for my car so I can patch this up? Car is a 2004 MINI Cooper in Pure Silver Metallic. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just good from a few feet away.

Find a body shop supply place. They’ll mix you a fresh can for you. I did it once, I think it was $20.

I hadn’t even thought of that, I will have to see who’s around me that might be able to do that.

All else fails, I’ve used these guys before with great results.

I saw them in my googling. They seem to be the only ones who have my color in a pre made can.

I found the same issue when looking for a green to match an Outback.

My green Outback just got a primer patch when the quarter panels started disintegrating.

Paintscratch.com
I’ve ordered 2 jars of touchup paint from them, and it matched perfectly both times. They sell touchup kits, spray cans, and pints of paint to your factory paint code.

Second for automotive touch up site. The color match is spot on. And good stuff.

I’ve done this several times. Any auto body/paint supply place will mix you up a spray can for around $20.
